Privacy & confidentiality.
Your privacy matters, and confidentiality is at the heart of counselling. This notice explains, in plain English, how Lavender Fields Counselling ("I", "me") handles your information.
What I collect
Only what you choose to share: your name and contact details, and whatever you tell me through the enquiry form, by phone or by email. This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies.
Why
To respond to your enquiry, arrange sessions and keep the records needed for safe, ethical practice.
Confidentiality
What you share in sessions is confidential. As part of safe practice I discuss my work with a clinical supervisor, but never using names or identifying details. Confidentiality would only be broken where there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, or where the law requires it — and I would always aim to talk this through with you first.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted periodically. Client records are kept securely for the period required by my professional body and then destroyed.
Your rights
You can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Contact jp@lavenderfieldscounselling.co.uk. You can also contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Professional standards
I am an NCPS Accredited Member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society and work to its Code of Ethics.
